Lacrosse Seasons

Spring – Field Lacrosse (12 v 12)

Field Lacrosse is played in the spring. Omaha Eagles play the spring season as part of the MGLL, Midwest Girls Lacrosse League. The MGLL consists of nine teams, 7 in Nebraska and 2 in Iowa (Des Moines Area). The teams of the MGLL compete for the Nebraska/Iowa Girls Lacrosse State Championship.

The spring season is conducted between March and the end of May and our schedule will consist of 10-14 total games including conference and non-conference contests. There will be Play-Days and Tournaments and regional travel during the Spring Season.

Practices

We open the spring with indoor skill building sessions in February and Mini Camps for Offense, Defense and Goaltenders. Games start mid to late March and once we get outdoors with a minimum of 3 practices. Once games begin, we expect to play two games a week with three practices a week.

If you are interested in playing in the Spring, click the button below to register and attend our Parent/Player Orientation n February 9th at Infinite Sports World. (Once You Register, we’ll be in touch with details).

Summer – Rest and Relax

During the summer months, we take a break from Lacrosse. We encourage our players to enjoy their summer on vacation or pursuing other interests. Once the girls head back to school, we’ll start getting ready for fall ball.

Fall – Fall Ball (7 v 7)

“Fall Ball” is played from August to October and generally runs 8 weeks. Eagles Lacrosse plays “fall ball” in the Nebraska Girls Fall Lacrosse League (NGFLL). The NGFLL was created and conducted its first season in the fall of 2019, the League is hosted by Omaha Eagles Lacrosse. The NGFLL consists of the six girl’s lacrosse clubs in Nebraska. Games are played on a shorter field and have a shortened game clock with games played on Sundays. This league has a focus on development and having fun. It’s a great way to introduce players to the sport and the club as well as a wonderful opportunity to further develop the athlete’s skill set.

Practices

We will practice twice a week during the fall. Practices will focus on fundamentals and increasing lacrosse IQ.

Winter – Skills and Conditioning

Our focus for the winter is conditioning, stick skills and comradery. We practice indoors during the winter months (December-January). These workouts are not mandatory but are highly encouraged.
